The ethiscore website is designed to help users quickly and easily identify the best products to support and the worst companies to avoid by calculating an 'ethical score' out of 20 for brands in over 160 product areas.

Roughly speaking:
15 to 20 is good
10 to 14 is average
5 to 9 is poor
0 to 4 is very poor

The score is a calculation based on a company's rating in each of Ethical Consumer's 23 main ethical categories. Each score table is accompanied by the text of the most recent Ethical Consumer magazine report.
